Puppies: For puppies under the age of 6-8 months, you need to monitor their chewing time. Too
much marrow in baby bellies at once can cause upset stomachs because it’s very rich in minerals and nutrients. Let your puppy chew for 15-20 minutes at a time and then take it away to let them digest.
Older dogs: Antlers are not recommended for dogs who have problems with their teeth or who are older and could develop problems with their teeth. You can always soften an antler by boiling it in water or chicken broth, but use discretion with older dogs.
Safety: Like with any other bone, you are responsible for your own dog’s safety. When the bone becomes sharp at points or small enough to swallow, dispose of it or file points down. Dogs should be supervised when enjoying an antler.
